Final Image
My final image is going to focus on the cat dog hybrid and how it connects opposites. In this case, male and female. The dog represents the male and the cat, represents the female as it's seen as more feminine.
I actually made the hands my own hands then changed the colour. Here is the original:
This is my final design, where I added text so it's more clear what I want the dog cat hybrid to represent:
The text in the middle reading "harmony" also has the stitch effect, showing that compassion and understanding has also been weaved into the hybrid, allowing the people on the sides to connect even further.
The reason I chose the Nokia logo is because Nokia is all about bringing people closer and letting them connect with each other. They even have hands reaching for each other in other versions of the logo. I believed this was perfect to support the idea I was going for in my final image.

The logos I think that represent my theme are:
Nokia
Accord
Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission
Growing Together
The one I ended up with was the Nokia logo:
Statement
My final image is based around the idea of a hybrid bringing humans together. What I was going for originally was the hybrid bringing a male and a female together as that's the most common example of a polar opposite pair.
However, I realised that it can also mean more than male and female by looking at the final image. Instead of forcing blue and pink on the dog-cat hybrid, I could make them a neutral white instead and let the onlooker decide for themselves who the people in the image are. It could be a more personal view they come up with or it could be something completely different to male/female. I believe the ones I did a few weeks ago, for example the introvert/extrovert and the yin/yang, could also be interpreted from this final image as it's a lot broader.
The paint splatters in the background are chaotic and messy; much like a Jackson Pollock piece, This is very relevant to the hybrid theme as people who dabble with DNA can be very unsure of what they are doing and are really just hoping for the best.
In the foreground, however, it's more calm. White is not only a colour that stands out among the wide array of colours, it's also a more pure and innocent contrast compared to the disheveled background.
It's clear to see that the people in the photo are willing to unite by reaching out their hands towards the hybrid, which is the joining point between the two. Although dogs and cats are often things that bring people closer together, the hybrid could represent something completely different. For example, the hybrid could just represent a marriage counsellor helping a couple reach out and rekindle their relationship.
The stitch effect is there for that reason. It portrays people patching or "stitching-up" their opposing views to just listen and understand each other. It also illustrates the actual dog and cat that have been stitched together to create the hybrid.
The text in the middle reading "harmony" also has the stitch effect, showing that compassion and understanding has also been weaved into the hybrid, allowing the people on the sides to connect even further.
